A CAR crash landed one of the vehicles on its roof and its driver had to be released after becoming trapped.

Following the crash, between a Skoda Octavia and a Toyota Rav 4, the driver of the Skoda was freed while a passenger of one of the cars had to be taken to hospital.

Two crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue attended the scene in Norton Road, Worcester, at 8.35am and used hydraulic equipment to free the driver.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "The patient who was trapped suffered no injuries, but a female passenger of one of the cars had to be taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

"Rapid response paramedics attended the scene at 8.32am but no details of injuries are known yet."

Two officers, from West Mercia Police, attended the scene but the road was not closed.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the crash and anyone with information is asked to call 101.
