Two other students have received conditional offers from St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, to study Veterinary Science and from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, to study Medicine.

Michael Kitcatt, principal, said: “I am delighted for the students who have been offered places and who have worked so hard to be successful.

"Over a third of our applicants to Oxford and Cambridge have been offered places, which is very much higher than the national rate of about one in five.

"Our success is down to the specialist programmes and support that we have in place for students applying to Oxford, Cambridge and other competitive universities as well as the dedication and skill of our teaching staff who inspire our students to aim high.

"The outstanding grades that these students achieved in their AS exams at the end of their first year of study with us has played a big part in securing their offers as well.

"We are also extremely grateful to our partner schools, as the excellent GCSE grades that the students received prior to joining us are another very important factor for Oxford and Cambridge Universities.”

In the last six years, forty five of the College’s students have received offers of places at Oxbridge.
