Warndon school closes early amid travel safety fears

First published in News

OASIS Academy Warndon Primary school closed at 2.30pm today (Wednesday).

Parents were contacted and asked to pick up their children.

Principal Matthew Meckin said: "We have a lot of staff who live the other side of the river and they need to get home.

"We need to keep their safety and wellbeing in mind.

"We don't know what's happening tomorrow but we presume we will be open and will let parents know otherwise."

Also closed yesterday was Hanley Castle High School and Upton-on-Severn CofE primary school due to the flooding and weather conditions.

For the same reasons, Abberley parochial primary school closed at 2pm and Leigh and Bransford primary school also closed early.
