VINTAGE fashion was the topic of a talk hosted by the Worcester Belles WI this week.

Business woman and WI member Clare Bridge, whose vintage shop Second Hand Rose is in the Hopmarket, discussed with members at St Mary’s Hall, Northfield Street, how she started her business aged 23 and developed it from a market stall to a successful shop and online business.

Ms Bridge also took the WI ladies on a whistle stop tour of 20th Century Fashion covering 1920s Flappers to 1980s power dressing, using images from her own book, Wearable Vintage Fashion, as well as bringing examples of fashions from the past from her shop.

"I enjoyed my first foray into public speaking," said Ms Bridge. "And hope the Worcester Belles enjoyed it. We had lots of interesting discussions with ladies about their fashion memories and there was even a spot of dressing up."
