A MEDICAL museum in Worcester is to host a 'love your heart' event.

As part of the Love Worcester Festival, the Infirmary Medical Museum – situated at the University of Worcester’s City Campus – will be hosting a ‘Love your Heart’ day this Saturday, between 10am and 2pm.

Staff at the museum will be on hand to lead behind-the-scenes tour of the former hospital (11am and 12noon), telling its history of heart surgery.

Families are encouraged to join the tours, and younger visitors will be invited to make paper hearts and take part in heart quizzes.

Visitors will also get a free health taster at the McClelland Centre for Health and Wellbeing, where qualified staff will be able to offer advice on fitness and maintaining a healthy heart.

Admission to the exhibition and to the McClelland Centre is free, and a small charge applies for craft activities. No pre-booking is required.

For more information on the event, contact Carol Bowsher on 01905 542540, or at c.bowsher@worc.ac.uk. Further details on the Infirmary Medical Museum, can be found at medicalmuseum.org or worcester.ac.uk/your-home/the-infirmary.html.

The Love Worcester Festival will run between February 14 and 23, and will see the city’s heritage attractions staging themed events throughout the week.
