WORCESTERSHIRE MPs touring The Hive in Worcester were "impressed" by the new facilities and the work of the archive department.
Robin Walker, MP for Worcester, and Harriett Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, were invited to see Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Services facilities, which stores 12 miles of archives covering the past 900 years, as it had recently been accredited and approved by The National Archives.
Worcestershire County councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for localism and communities, said the service at the join library and council hub that also housed archaelogists who protected, preserved, managed, recorded, interpretted, and promoted the history and historic environment of the county, was important for current and future generations.
She said: "It was great to be able to show Robin and Harriet around our excellent facilities. The service plays an important part in helping Worcestershire residents discover more about their community's past, and we were able to highlight some of the innovative ways we are working with local people, as well as showing off some of the amazing historical treasures held here."
