Updated 4:37pm Tuesday 18th February 2014 in News
A FIREMAN took a break from flood duty to visit youngsters at Burlish Park Primary School in Stourport.
Fireman Wayne Berry visited the nursery class as part of their current topic on People Who Help Us.
Nursery teacher Caroline Hyde said the children had a great time meeting Wayne.
"They had fantastic fun acting out various fire safety routines in our role play area.
"The children also learnt about fire awareness and what they needed to do in case of a fire."
It was the third time Mr Berry had visited the nursery.
He said: "This is my third visit to Burlish Park Nursery and although the children are very young it is amazing what information they remember.
"Chilldren learned the saying "stay low and go, go, go" and role played how to crawl along the floor to get out of a burning house to avoid smoke inhalation.
"This might one day save someone's life."
The class has already being visited by a paramedic and school crossing patrol lady and are now looking forward to a visit from a policeman and veterinary nurse.
