A car fire, which caused the A422 Worcester Road, to be closed in both directions has been extinguished.

A spokeswoman for Hereford and Worcester Fire Control confirmed One fire crew from Worcester attended the scene at 5.08pm and put out the fire which caused damage to "50%" of the car.

One lane on the road is currently open with Police controlling traffic flow.

The car fire was at Grafton Flyford and the car was a classic Jaguar, just like the late John Thaw drove in Inspector Morse. The poor owner could only watch until the fire brigade arrived.
