KIND hearted and daring fundraisers hot footed it over 20 feet of burning embers in Worcester this month and raised thousands of pounds for a city charity.

There were 25 people that took part in the annual firewalk in support of Sight Concern Worcestershire on Friday (February 21).

This years event took place at the Pavilion in the Park bar and restaurant in Cripplegate Park to raise money for blind and partially sighted people across the county.

Cheered on by dozens of spectators the night was a great success, featuring a fire juggler and hot music, while the Pavilion supplied food and drink.

With the support of the Worcester Bosch Group the event raised nearly £7,000 for Sight Concern.

Andy Garbett, marketing manager for Worcester, said: "What a fantastic night, everyone was fully involved and the experience is one to be remembered for years to come. One small step for the firewalkers, one huge donation for Sight Concern."
