A FUNDRAISING football fun day organised by a Worcester woman in memory of her grandfather will be held this weekend.

The event at King George V Playing Fields in Brickfields Road will include sponsored penalty shoot-outs, raffles, a bouncy castle and other attractions, followed by an evening of live music at The Prince of Wales pub in Windermere Drive.

Stacey Gormley organised the event in aid of the Worcester and District branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, now in its third year, in memory of her grandfather Joey, who died of the disease in January 2012.

She said: “Not only did the charity support him but also us as a family and especially my grandmother.

“Grandad was a great footballer and spent many years coaching and passing on his skill to his two sons Jason and Karl and many other players in Worcester.”

The event at the King George V Playing Field will begin at about midday, with the evening events starting at about 7.30pm.
