They'd do better to get more Enforcement Officers out there issuing more tickets.

"Monitoring" just means doing nothing and hoping the problem goes away.

The council are having a laugh , we pay our taxes for them to provide services , why should we help the council out for free as they are only intrested in cut backs and ways to make money , i dont ever see the council tax go down ,the idiots In charge had any sense they would think about consequences of their actions . Here's a suggestion council leaders get off your fat overpaid arses and go and watch dogs going there business yourselves , you should've used to it as you do a crap job already

If I lived locally, and there was a problem, I would help with this initiative, because it's about supporting your local community. But I agree with others who have said that it is pointless when the Council do nothing with those dropping litter or worse, letting their dogs foul communal areas like footpaths and parks, without bothering to pick it up.

If the local Council behaves robustly in areas like this, they might then reasonably expect a robust response

I trust that Children will not be included in this volutary work since they are the very ones at risk from Dog Pooh. It is a fact that there is a vrus in Dog Pooh that is very dangerous to childrens Eyesight, so even adults handling this stuff need to wash their hands carefully. Dog owners who allow their pets to Pooh in public places and the they the owners just leave it are totally inconsiderate to KIds.I support higher and more applied Fines. However our Environmental Services have retreated behing the HUb and when called on an Environmental issue they wil tell you that they no longer deal directly with the public but that we must go to our Councillors first. That has been my experience.
