TWO people have been seriously injured following a road collision near Bewdley.

It happened on the A456 at Callow Hill, outside Rousbine caravan park, just after 2.30am on Saturday, March 1 and involved a white Ford Transit van.

The van was travelling towards Tenbury Wells when it left the road and collided with a tree and a wall.

Both the driver and passenger sustained what were feared to be life threatening injuries and were treated in intensive care at Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Cleobury Mortimer, sustained broken bones and a head injury.

He is in a stable condition and is expected to be transferred from intensive care to a ward.

The passenger, a 25-year-old man, also from Cleobury Mortimer, sustained facial and chest injuries, and a possible serious head injury, but was expected to be allowed home last night (Monday).
