TWO hundred of the UK's best young singers are coming to Worcester for their spring performance.

The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain Girls Choirs are performing at the cathedral on Wednesday, April 9 at 2.30pm.

With only two or three concerts a year held across the UK, this is a rare chance to hear some of the best young singers in the country and wide repertoire of music.

Music by Vijay Singh will appear alongside works by Henry Purcell, Eric Whitacre, Will Todd, and Kesselman, along with a performance of Britten’s A Children’s Crusade.

Ben Parry, Director of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, said: "The girls' choirs are truly inspirational in their approach to training and performance.

"Their sound is captivating and engaging, and it's quite a thrill to hear so many young singers combined in concert."

Tickets are £3 or free for under 18s and are available on the door from 2pm.
