A NEW endoscopy suite at a Worcestershire hospital has been officially opened by former secretary of state for health Stephen Dorrell.
The Conservative MP for Charnwood in Leicestershire, who was born in Worcester and held the ministerial position in John Major's government, visited the new suite at BMI Droitwich Spa Hospital on Friday, February 28, where he welcomed the organisation's investment to improve treatment for patients in the area.
“I think of our healthcare services as one system with the aim of offering patients the best care pathways possible," he said. "Improvements such as this new endoscopy suite is all about helping to meet their needs now and in the future."
The hospital's executive director Jenny Liggitt said: “We are delighted with the new suite and feel it will be a great benefit to patients, consultants and medical staff alike.
“It was also very pleasing to have someone with such a long association with health services as Mr Dorrell to perform the opening ceremony.”
