A burglar broke into a tea room in Droitwich and stole cash from the premises including the contents of a charity collection box.

The theft happened at the Tea Cups tea room, Gurney’s Lane, Droitwich, sometime between 3.30pm on Friday, February 28 and 8.35am on Saturday, March 1.

The offender is believed to have entered after smashing part of a first floor bathroom window before searching the property.

Petty cash and the contents of a Marie Curie charity collection box totalling approximately £150 were taken.

West Mercia Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them trace the burglar.

PC Laura Tansell said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, particularly during the hours of darkness.

“Anyone with information is asked to call the non emergency number 101 quoting incident number 177s 010314.”
