A POLICE car was rammed by a BMW carrying three people who had stolen a tool kit from Halfords, in Bromsgrove.

Officers from West Mercia Police were called to the store in Birmingham Road, at about 7.15pm on Tuesday, March 4, when two men and a woman had stolen the kit worth £160 and made off in a Kia Picanto.

The car was then seen in Rubery, where it failed to stop, and headed into Birmingham at speed, causing other vehicles to take evasive action.

The offender then rammed the police BMW estate in Pershore Road, Selly Park, where the pursuit ended.

The two officers in the vehicle were uninjured, but the BMW was damaged.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Mark Hollingworth at West Mercia Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 579-S-040314 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
