THERE was dancing in the street in Worcester as two flash mobs popped up in the city centre to encourage people to get active.

Twenty students from Worcester College of Technology showed how happy they were to keep fit to around 150 people as they danced to Pharrell William's hit song and also performed to Brave Heart by girl group Neon Jungle in two locations in the city centre.

The event took place outside Debenhams and in front of Asda on Tuesday, March 11, in order to promote Worcester's Harpers Fitness centre, Worcester Swimming Pool.

Matt Williams, sales advisor at Worcester Swimming Pool, said: "We wanted to have a bit of fun and also allow people to stop in the streets and think about fitness and dance. Local people seemed to really enjoy it, especially with the weather being on our side."

David Pugh, contract manager at the pool, added: "It was great to see local students getting involved with the centre. Everybody involved had a great day and we look forward to doing more with local schools and colleges to get people into fitness."
