Find out about Help to Buy scheme in Evesham this weekend

PEOPLE in Worcestershire hoping to buy their dream home can find out more about a scheme helping buyers a secure mortgage at a special event in Evesham this weekend.
Advisers from Bovis Homes will be on hand at the company’s Abbey Vale development in Offenham Road from 10am until 5pm this Saturday and Sunday providing information on the Help to Buy Scheme.
The government-run scheme is available to anyone buying a house and provides the opportunity to secure a mortgage with only a five per cent deposit while paying as little as 80 per cent of the full purchase price up front, with the remainder funded by a government equity loan.
Bovis Homes Group marketing director Kevin Wilkins said the scheme was ideal for home buyers who were struggling to raise deposits.
"This is the most progressive scheme we have seen yet, with broad qualification criteria which makes it available to all types of homebuyers – not just first-timers – with no income cap and a maximum house price of £600,000,” he said.
"Since its launch the message is getting out that this really is a great time to make that move into a brand new home.
“I would advise people who have been waiting for changes in the market before moving to take a close look at Help to Buy and see if it is the right option for them.
“We’ve seen many people who had been holding back from making a move now deciding to make the most of the five per cent deposit requirement, the government equity loan and the 75 per cent mortgage, which should give them access to more attractive rates of interest.”
