HEAR a youthful band release their debut album fresh from making the final of a prestigious award.

Granny's Attic were one of four acts nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award and Better Weather finds them mixing songs and instrumentals from England, Ireland, the USA and Canada alongside original tunes.

Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne, George Sansome and Lewis Wood, who met at Bishop Perowne CofE Performing Arts College, present the longplayer during a special show at Broadwas Village Hall, near Worcester, on Friday, April 11.

It was recorded last summer in the Old Smithy Studios in Kempsey.

Their live renditions of All For Me Grog and Royal Oak’ have been played on BBC Radio 2 and featured on the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award compilation album.

As part of their BBC Radio 2 Yong Folk Award nomination, the trio performed a short set at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and attended the award ceremony in the Royal Albert Hall.

The gig starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £6.50 in advance.
