THE JUNIOR Squad of Worcester Rowing Club presented a former club coach with a cheque for the charity she is raising funds for.

The juniors raised £200 during their annual award ceremony by hosting a raffle at the night for a charity Hannah Lawton is fund-raising for.

Pete Powell, junior coach at the club, said: "We did in support of Hannah, who was here for two years.

"It was a fantastic night in which we celebrated last year's achievements, and now look to the future."

The awards went to Luca Santese for Sculler of the Year, Daisy Price for Capsizer of The Year, Beth Bladen for Cox of The Year and Katie Drisdale won the Endeavour award.

Miss Lawton said:"I really appreciate the effort everyone put in to raising this money. It's a great help."

The £200 will be donated to Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Myton Hospice.

The ceremony went ahead Saturday, March 29, and miss Lawton collected the cheque on Sunday, April 6.
