A SINGING and dancing sensation will be one of the star attractions at Broadfest this summer.

Ray Quinn is set to headline the third year of the festival in Broadway, near Evesham, over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, July 12-13 alongside artists from all four corners of the UK.

Ray scored a number one album with Doing It My Way in 2007 and earlier this year he won ITV's Dancing On Ice Champion of Champions.

His career began with a stint on the Channel 4 soap Brookside in 2000 and won the hearts of the nation when he appeared on the X Factor in 2006, when he finished second to Leona Lewis.

Last year the festival attracted more than 7,000 revellers and the event is the brainchild of Gary Thompson who lives in the village and has worked in the music industry for many years, managing a number of artists.

Gary said: "Using my knowledge and experience, it was always my vision to provide a summer party for the residents of Broadway but its success has enabled me to attract more prominent artists."

This year's line-up also includes the welcome return of Rock Choir and the finalists of Wychavon District Council's 2014 edition of the W Factor.
