THE blind man attacked at knife point is still a prisoner in his own home after being left unable to go out.

Andy Muxlow has not been out on his own since the incident which happened after he visited a cash machine at about 7.30pm on Friday, March 28, in Geraldine Road, Malvern.

Mr Muxlow, who is registered blind, has also not been sleeping properly despite getting sleeping tablets from his doctor and he doesn't know when he is likely to be able to return to his normal daily routine.

"Every time a car pulls up or when we go outside to the the car, if someone strange is out there I am wondering who it is. I have never lived like this before."

Mr Muxlow was able to kick and punch the leg and face of one of the male attackers who held a knife to his throat and chest while demanding money but has struggled to cope with the impact of the attack which has robbed him of his independence.

To make matters worse, Mr Muxlow, who has no sight in his right eye and only six per cent vision in his left, says he has been "hounded by press agencies" since the news of his plight broke.

"One of them pushed past my wife to get in the house. It was very insensitive.

"We just had a night away to try and chill out a little bit because it is really, really stressful for me and my wife as well because she has got to be here all the time."

Mr Muxlow added: "Please come forward. Someone must know because someone must have gone home with a mark or something. Someone is protecting somebody."

It is thought Mr Muxlow was attacked by two men and they may have been watching as he withdrew money from a cash machine opposite Loco in Barnards Green.

One was described as white, wearing a dark coloured top with white stripes on the shoulders.
