PROPOSALS for a new football stadium in Worcester have been handed to the city council - bringing the supporter's dream one step closer.
A formal planning application has now been submitted to build a new 4,100 capacity ground at Perdiswell.
The plans, by the Worcester City's supporters trust, will now lead to a public consultation kicking off over the summer.
The application includes one main 500-seater stand, a standing terrace, 3G pitch, three full-size grass pitches, two nine aside fields, conference and classroom facilities.
Rob Crean, from the supporters trust said: "We've been working on it for a long time because if we don't get it right it will be chucked out.
"The plans are now with the council and people will get to have their say during the consultation."
Worcester City are currently playing their games at Kidderminster Harrier's Aggborough stadium after leaving St George's Lane one year ago.
The supporters trust is determined to bring the club home and says it aims to secure grants and fundraising donations towards the £2.1 million it is likely to need to build it.
Nearby residents have already launched a petition calling for it to be rejected amid fears of congestion and a loss of green space.
