A SERIOUS sexual assault took place in Redditch on Saturday.
Police are appealing to a couple who may have spoken to the victim to come forward.
The assault happened in Arrow Valley Park in Redditch between 7pm and 8pm.
Following the assault, the victim, a 30-year-old local woman, was walking along Old Forge Drive at around 11pm when she saw a man and a woman walking their dog.
Detective Inspector Stuart Murphy said: “I’d like to emphasise that this couple are not in any trouble but their assistance could help with our investigation and I’d urge them to contact us as soon as possible. A thorough investigation is underway and we are doing all we can to support the victim and find the man responsible.”
Police are also eager to speak to a man who was seen in the park at around the time of the incident. He was sat on a bench talking on a mobile phone. He was described as white and in his 30s. He was wearing a baseball cap and was smoking. He is believed to have a Slovakian accent.
