THE blues sounds of a Malvern-based band are in the running for a hat-trick of prestigious awards.
BabaJack's Trevor Steger has been nominated in the Best Harmonica Player category at the British Blues Awards 2014, with the group already named in two other categories.
Becky Tate has been nominated for Instrumentalist of the Year 2014 which she has twice won in 2013 and 2012, so it could be a personal hat-trick for the singer who combines roots, funk and African rhythms with her vocals.
The band as a whole, who are completed by Tosh Murase on drums and bassist Adam Bertenshaw, are also finalists in the Best Acoustic Act and it is the third year running they have reached this stage as well.
The 2014 British Blues Awards presentation will be held on the British Stage at the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne, Lancashire, on Sunday, August 24.
It will also be the 25th anniversary of the festival.
