An event that aims to encourage residents to explore nature will be held at The River School in May for the second year running.

The Go Wild event will take place in the school grounds of the Droitwich Road school between 3pm and 5pm on Sunday, May 18.

Those taking part will enjoy pond dipping, camp fire, bushcraft, den building and face painting.

Tea and cakes will be available and families encouraged to bring along picnics.

The event has been organised by the Friends of The River School, a group of parents and teachers who support the school's community.

Carol Parry, the school's headteacher said: “Our Go Wild event was a huge success last year with families coming along to enjoy our beautiful surroundings and take part in some fun activities.

"This year’s event will build on last year’s and we hope to welcome more people.

"Please feel free to come along.”

The event is free and open to everyone. Refreshments are available for a small charge.
