A WORCESTER charity helping support people with blood cancer has appointed a new care director.
Esther Wroughton has 17 years experience within the healthcare and dental sector – including working with NHS Direct and the NHS 111 service – and will work with Leukaemia CARE to improve links with hospitals and specialists to improve the support the charity is able to offer.
Ms Wroughton said she was “thrilled” to be joining the national charity, which is based off Blackpole Road and runs services including a 24-hour care line, support groups and patient and carer conferences.
“I strongly believe that whether you are a patient or a carer, newly diagnosed or undergoing treatment, access to support and credible information is paramount,” she said.
“I am passionate about raising awareness about what the charity does developing out support services and ultimately being there to support anyone affected by a blood cancer diagnosis.”
