An inquest is due to open next week into the death of a Worcester woman who died after suffering serious injuries in a three-car crash.

The 67-year-old died in the collision which happened at about 5.20pm on Sunday, April 20 on the A417 between the Air Balloon Roundabout and the turn-off for Birdlip, near Cheltenham.

The inquest is expected to open next week after a second post mortem is carried out in the next few days.

Police are continuing to appeal for information about the crash which involved a Grey BMW 3-series car, driven by a 48-year-old man from Surrey travelling toward Cirencester, and a white Nissan Qashqai travelling in the opposite direction driven by a 67-year-old man from Worcester.

A blue Vauxhall Astra driven by a 29-year-old woman from Surrey travelling towards Cirencester was also involved in the collision.

The woman from Worcester, who was a passenger of the Nissan, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with serious injuries but she later passed away in hospital on Wednesday, April 23.

The driver of the Nissan and BMW were also taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital but have since been discharged while the driver of the Vauxhall was not injured.
