Could you offer a dog a foster home?

Worcester News: Candy is looking for a foster home. Candy is looking for a foster home.

DOGS Trust in Evesham is appealing for people to lend a hand to some homeless dogs that need somewhere to stay while waiting for a forever home.

The charity, based just outside Evesham at Wickhamford, need more people to become foster carers as part of its Home from Home scheme.

To provide potential foster carers with more information an evening is being held at the centre on Wednesday, May 7, from 6.30pm to showcase the scheme.

It is also marks the beginning of the centre's late night openings when it will be open to the public every Wednesday until 8pm until September.

Chris Slight, Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre Manager, said: "Dogs Trust volunteer foster carers provide a lifeline for dogs who need some extra TLC.

"Families will receive our full support and advice regarding the dog in their care, and will be equipped with everything they will need such as food, bedding and the vet fees will be covered by Dogs Trust.

"Foster carers play a huge role in the dogs rehabilitation and helping them to find their forever home If you’re an experienced dog owner, have lots of free time, and live locally to the rehoming centre, please get in touch if you can help."

Two dogs currently in need of a foster home are Wriglet, a ten-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, and Candy, a sweet natured cross breed female dog.
