AN AIR cadet from Pershore has represented his squadron in the national air cadet organisation marching band.

Nathan Branchett joined a group of 62 cadets to spend a week of the Easter holidays at RAF Halton on band camp.

The group then performed by HMS Victory at Portsmouth Docks and at Twickenham before the recent rugby match between London Wasps and Gloucester.

Nathan, a side drummer, is a Sergeant for Pershore (233) Air Cadet Squadron.

Headteacher Clive Corbett, who was at the Portsmouth performance, said: "The performance was excellent and drew a good crowd of on-lookers both times - those we spoke to who were not connected with the cadets in any way were all very complimentary about the cadets and their display."

Nathan has now been chosen to perform as part of a smaller group at the Kingston Tattoo on Saturday, May 10 as well as a combined cadet force performance at Shuttleworth in July.

The group will also be performing at Heathrow Airport in October this year where they will be leading the plane onto the runway for a Dream Flight, where terminally ill children are taken on a holiday of a lifetime to Disneyworld, Florida.
