A CONSERVATION charity is inviting people to join a guided walk around a Pershore nature reserve.

Peter Case, Water and Wetlands Officer for Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, will be leading the walk around Avon Meadows Community Wetland, which will explore all aspects of the reserve from wetland plants and aquatic wildlife, as well as examining the importance of the River Avon to the landscape.

Mr Case said: "Avon Meadows Community Wetland, just a few minutes from the town centre, is a perfect antidote to the bustle of the high street.

"This is a great opportunity to get outdoors, discover what's right under our noses and explore a wonderful habitat."

Avon Meadows Community Wetlands covers 24 hectares of floodplain grassland alongside the River Avon.

The walk is set to go ahead on Thursday, May 15, from 1pm and costs £6 to take part.

Booking is essential for the two and half hour walk.
