THERE is just one week to go until Worcestershire gets ready to 'Push the Boat out' as part of a national festival of sailing and windsurfing.

Five sailing clubs and centres in the county will be giving the chance to everyone - regardless of age, experience or ability - to get out on the water to sample sailing and windsurfing at no or low cost.

The 'have a go' sessions are part of the national RYA Push the Boat Out weekend, which takes places on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18.

Venues in the county include Top Barn Activity Centre, just outside Worcester, Aztec Adventure in Upton Warren, Arden Sailing Club, Defford near Pershore, Trimpley Sailing Club, in Bewdley, and Upton Warren Sailing Club.

Croft Farm Sail and Paddle at Croft Farm Water Park just over the county border in Tewkesbury is also taking part.

There are 250 clubs, centres and organisations nationwide - and 40 in the Midlands - opening their doors to the public as part of the weekend.

Booking is essential for some of the activities and refreshments will be available.

People taking part in the ‘have a go’ sessions will need a change of clothes, soft soled shoes and a towel and the clubs and centres will provide everything else.

RYA Push the Boat Out is part of National Watersports Month this month. For details and to find your nearest event, visit rya.org.uk/go/ptbo.
