FOUR fire crews were called to tackle a fire in a farm building just outside Pershore.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called at 8.10pm yesterday (Friday) to Hall Farm, Whitehall Lane. Birlingham.
Crews from Pershore, Evesham, Upton and Worcester attended and found the fire in a 30metre by 25 metre single-storey storage barn which contained vehicles and welding equipment.
They used compressed foam and water to tackle the blaze and left at 10pm.
It started in a large pile of railway sleepers at the back of the building, which are used for an adult miniature railway.
Incident commander Alan Haley said because of where it was, the fire was quite hard to get to.
"There had been some work done in the area which had set something smoldering," he said.
"Because of its location and having welding gear and cylinders it made it quite a tricky incident.
"It was probably accidental. The building was fine."
