A TEENAGER was killed after being hit by a car in Bromsgrove last night.

The 17-year-old – who was on foot – died after he was hit by a Toyota Avensis near the traffic lights at the junction of the A38 and New Road just after 10.20pm.

The teenager, who was from the Bromsgrove area, suffered serious head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota driver, a man from the Redditch area, was not hurt but was treated for shock by paramedics.

An investigation has been launched and police are appealing for anyone who saw the crash to come forward.

PC Sarah Skelding from West Mercia Police said: “This incident has tragically resulted in the death of a young man and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time for them.

“We need to establish the full circumstances of how this happened and therefore if anyone witnessed the collision or noticed either the teenager or the car involved immediately beforehand then please get in touch with us.”
