A NURSING home near Pershore has won acclaim for the standard of care it provides its residents.

Bricklehampton Hall Nursing Home is among more than 500 others across the country to achieve the Gold Standards Framework in the Care Homes Quality Hallmark Awards.

The award recognises homes that have helped lighten demand on hospitals and helping residents live their last days in a place of their choice.

To be accredited a home has to fulfil 20 criteria including leadership, support and dignity.

Gold Standards Framework national centre lead nurse Maggie Stobbart-Rowlands said: “Increasing numbers of people are now being cared for in a more compassionate and coordinated way which means they are receiving the care they want, where and when they want it.

“Homes like Bricklehampton Hall are a beacon for others to follow as they are providing the right care, in the right place, at the right time, offering their residents the sort of care we would want for ourselves or our loved ones.”
