THE organiser of The Worcester Flea is bringing a new and unusual event to Worcester for national Bike Week on Saturday, June 21, at the Museum and Art Gallery on Foregate Street.

The Bicycle Basket Bazaar is an arts, craft and vintage fair with a difference as traders will be selling from their bicycles.

This unique market concept that has gained world wide recognition was started by Bill Pollard of the Ministry of Bicycles in Northampton in 2006.

"We've had permission from the founder to bring the market to Worcester and promote cycling in a different, fun way for Bike Week," explained organiser Jo Bourke.

"It's a non-profit event to support local traders so pitches are just £5 for a 6'x6' space in the old library space in the Museum.

"Traders must bring a bicycle but can fill the space with boxes, baskets, suitcases etc. The only thing not allowed are large tables but there's plenty of room to get creative with the space."

The event is being sponsored by popular independent cycle shop Barbourne Bicycles of 35 Barbourne Road, who will also be providing a few bikes for the event.

The Bazaar will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm. There are still a few spaces available for artists, crafters or vintage accessory or bric-a-brac sellers and anyone who would like to take part should email info@theworcesterflea.co.uk for more information.
