DISABLED car parking spaces outside the A&E at Worcestershire Royal Hospital are to be temporarily moved in preparation for road works to begin next week.
As part of the work beginning on Monday, June 16 to create an entrance road to the hospital’s new radiotherapy centre the seven spaces will be moved to the south staff and visitor car park from tomorrow, Wednesday, June 11.
Interim director of estates at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Steve Lloyd said it was hoped the work would be completed by the end of August.
“We will endeavour to minimise any disruption caused to patients and visitors during these road works,” he said.
The new radiotherapy centre will enable up to 95 per cent of cancer patients to be treated in Worcestershire rather than having to travel further afield.
The centre is expected to open at the start of next year.
