A PUB will celebrate its 300th anniversary with a day of music, theatre, dance and food.

The Old Cock Inn at Droitwich, is reviving FriarFest by popular demand, two years after the first event took place as a one-off by taking over Friar Street on Sunday, June 29 from noon to 8pm.

Outside in the street on the main stage, there’s everything from the Droitwich Community Choir to belly dancing, theatre and jazz, ska, reggae, blues and acoustic country music.

Inside the pub, there will be a selection of acoustic, folk and alternative rock, as well as more theatre.

Graham Leonard, who runs the pub with Stuart Wilcox, said: “Once again, the council has allowed us to close Friar Street to allow customers to enjoy the food, stalls and bands that will be on throughout the day.”

Mr Leonard added: “The last FriarFest was a great success. Even though it was meant to be a one-off, it proved so popular we’ve been asked to do it again by too many customers to ignore.”

Alongside the entertainment, there will be a whole range of foods on sale, from hot dogs to Caribbean cuisine, ice cream and an outside bar.
