TWO talented singers from BBC show The Voice will be appearing at this year's Minifest which returns to Cripplegate Park on Sunday.

Television talent show contestants Beth McCarthy and Tom Barnwell will be joining Worcester acts Jasper in the Company of Others and internet sensations The Secrets and recent itunes UK top 40 artist Abby Inez.

Music fans will also get a chance to see Of Kings and Captains who supported music icons Bon Jovi on their recent UK tour.

Youngsters will be able to meet Peppa Pig while the Worcester Wolves’ cheerleading squad The Worcester Wolverines will be putting on a display.

Alongside the music, there will be go-karting, archery, mini golf and a special Youthcomm Radio Find the Stars competition.

For the first time, the festival will feature Minifest Market supported by St John's Trading Association.

David Wooldridge, host and organiser of the event, said: “I really think that Minifest 2014 will be the best year yet.

“Minifest is always such a great event and this year with talents from The Voice alongside acts who have performed at places like Wembley, the LG Arena and The Etihad.

"I think it shows that Youthcomm Radio has really raised the bar.”

Muff Murfin, Youthcomm Radio consultant, said Minifest always set out to celebrate and bring together a connection of great music, the community, local businesses and youth in the area.

"Personally I feel Minifest this year is going achieve that goal better than ever before.

“Minifest is the only event that really does connect so many people throughout Worcester, so it’s important that Youthcomm Radio continues to provide events like these to the city and improves them year by year."
