THE 10th Warndon Villages Summer Fete is just around the corner, and organisers hope it will build on the success of last year's event.

More than 1,000 people turned out to join in with the fun at the last fete, which is organised by Lyppard Grange Community Centre and supported by Warndon Parish Council.

This year's event takes place on Sunday, July 13 from noon to 4pm at Ankerage Green, Warndon Villages.

The centre is also celebrating 21 years since it first opened, and fete activities include go-karting, music, a barbecue, pony rides, a bungee jump and more.

Lauren Cartwright, deputy manager of the centre, said people are also encouraged to donate gifts to Acorns Children's Hospice.

She said: "We are very excited about this year’s event, especially as we are celebrating our 21st birthday.

"In addition we are delighted to support the hospice by asking visitors to donate a gift for a child. Gifts can be donated on the day at the collection point or we will happily collect gifts beforehand in the centre."

Ideal gifts would be suitable for a boy or a girl up to the age of 16. For a list of suitable gifts visit www.lyppardgrangecommunitycentre.co.uk.
