THESE blackened windows are the result of a fire that broke out in a Worcester families home this morning.

The blaze, which appears to have caused serious damage to the first floor front rooms of the house, began shortly before 9.40am in a first floor bedroom in Maple Avenue, Tolladine.

At lunchtime today the house had been fenced off to prevent anyone entering with metal guards.

Following the fire the ambulance service treated one patient for smoke inhalation, but fortunately the two adults, a mother and father, and their young daughter, who were in the property at the time were not seriously injured. Their two sons were at school.

Neighbours said the family were very upset about the fire and the damage it had caused but hoped to be back into their home as soon as possible.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
