A COUPLE had a very lucky escape after their car spun off the M42 and ended up upside-down in a field.
The crash happened in heavy rain at about 5.10pm on Saturday afternoon between junction three for Redditch and Evesham and junction two for Birmingham and the A441.
Ambulances were called to the scene after callers rang 999 to say they had seen the car spinning before coming of the road.
The couple were taken to nearby Hopwood Park Services to get the motorway moving again. After a check up they were both found to be completely unhurt and opted not to go to hospital.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Absolutely no doubt that they were very lucky indeed.”
