A GROUP of fitness enthusiasts took on a tough six-mile mud run to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice.

The 20 team members, who train with British Military Fitness (BMF), in Worcester, faced a supreme test of endurance in the Mudrunner Oblivion event at Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, on Saturday.

They tackled a gruelling cross-country course with ten tests of strength, endurance and co-ordination and lashings of thick mud to go with it.

Team leader Adrian Guida-Jones, a council officer for Redditch Borough Council, who led a team of runners from Worcester, Droitwich, Clifton-upon-Teme and Malvern, said: “The Oblivion Mud run was fantastic fun but was challenging and exhausting for some of those who had never entered one before.

"I am very proud of Team BMF Worcester, who did very well and raised over £1,600 for St Richard’s Hospice.”

Jason Fields, British Military Fitness Park Manager for Worcester, said: “It is great to see BMF members getting together to utilise their training to raise money for charity, and this is only one of the challenges that the team has committed to doing this year in order to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice.

"I believe this demonstrates the camaraderie and social side of BMF, and how well the members get on and support each other through tough challenges. I am really proud of the group.”
