Frankie's Legacy fun day will fill The Pavilion in the Park
12:00pm Tuesday 1st July 2014 in News
BALLOONS bearing the names of stillborn children will be released into the sky at the end of a family fun day in aid of Frankie's Legacy.
Pink and blue balloons will fill the air following the Summer Fun Day at The Pavilion in The Park, Tybridge Street, on Saturday, July 20.
Families will enjoy a day of entertainment including stalls, children's storytelling, a DJ and live music, bouncy castle, obstacle course race, facepainting and more.
Jai Hill, the bard of Malvern, will be donning his Bananaman costume to compere the event.
Ella Stearn, from Cleobury Mortimer, has organised the event after reading how Russell and Lisa Ventura founded the charity in memory of their son Francesco “Frankie” Enrico Ventura.
Frankie was stillborn at Worcestershire Royal Hospital on November 29, 2013 and the charity aims to raise awareness of cleft lip and palate, stillbirth and a rare chromosomal disorder called chromosome 15 duplication syndrome.
It will raise funds to improve the delivery suite facilities at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital and provide equipment to add some home from home comforts in the delivery suite rooms.
Miss Stearn, aged 18, said: “I can’t wait to welcome the community to this Summer Fun Day at The Pavilion in the Park.
"Event preparations are going really well and it’s great to have so much interest and support for such a worthwhile cause.
"There will be something at the event for everyone and I’m particularly excited about the live performances from local singers and bands.
"It promises to be a fun day for the whole family and entry to the fun day is free.
"Events like these are so important to Frankie’s Legacy to help them raise the funds that they need."
Anyone able to donate prizes or would like to volunteer on the day please contact Miss Stearn by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07443 652984.
