AN animal rescue charity will be holding a novelty dog show at the site they hope to transform into a £1 million rehoming centre.

The fun day at The Holdings, Holdings Lane, Broomhall, near Worcester will help RSPCA Worcester and Mid-Worcestershire Branch to fund the centre they want to build on the five acre site.

Planning permission has already been granted and the branch now needs to find funds to start the building of 20 dog kennels, 20 cat pens and 12 rabbit pods.

There are also plans for a veterinary room and exercise areas.

Radio presenter Andrew Easton, from BBC Hereford and Worcester, will compere the dog show on Sunday, July 13 which starts at 10.30am.

Classes include best rescue dog, best veteran over seven years and the dog the judge would most like to take home.

Animal lovers will also be able to enjoy stalls, refreshments, music, raffle and more.

There will also be a chance to Buy A Brick on the day and help to start the new building.

Anyone wishing to become more involved in The Holdings Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre can talk to branch trustees to find out about their role.
