IT WILL be a case of something old, something new and something that will benefit St Richard's Hospice for one bride set to walk down the aisle at Ombersley Church.

Bride-to-be Lucy Horn, who lives in the village, and her fiancé Graeme Campbell vowed to support the charity, based in Wildwood Drive, when they began organising their big day.

The couple will tie the knot on Friday, August 1 and will follow the ceremony with a reception at the Bank House Hotel in Bransford.

Finding her perfect wedding dress in the St Richard's charity shop, she topped it off with a tiara, veil and wedding shoes from the store in The Cross,Worcester.

Miss Horn, a primary school teacher, searched the rails of the charity shop which has hundreds of top brand gowns and accessories that were donated after the closure of a bridal shop.

The wedding dresses would usually retail for up to £1,200 but are on sale for about £300 to £400.

Their kindness will continue at the reception with Miss Horn and Mr Campbell, aged 39, choosing St Richard's snowdrop pin badges as favours for their 120 guests.

Miss Horn, the daughter of Dr Andrew Horn, a GP at Ombersley, and Jeanette Horn, a former haematology nurse, explained they chose to support St Richard's because it was a fantastic charity.

“I think the work that St Richard’s do to help patients and their families in so many different ways is vitally important and it's a pleasure to know that our wedding is doing some good.

"So many people have cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and St Richard's provides an excellent service to support everyone whose lives are affected.”

Lizzie Brazier, St Richard’s fundraiser said the couple were generous for choosing to support the charity through their big day.

“It’s so generous of the family to spread the love from their wedding to others in this way by supporting St Richard’s.

"We wish them a wonderful day and a very happy life together.”
