WORCESTER students were put through their paces by pensioners this week, and discovered they it is never too late to get fit.

Twenty pupils from the independent River School, from years 7 to 10, travelled to Perdiswell Leisure Centre on Wednesday, July 2, to take part in a senior citizens' exercise class.

Headteacher, Carol Parry said: "The older generation can be a real inspiration to us, in so many ways, including how to keep fit and mobile.

"Many young people today lead sedentary lifestyles. The health and social benefits of exercise are of paramount importance in the development of children; this, coupled with the inspirational stories of the older generation, have been both welcomed and enjoyed by all taking part."

The exercise classes at the leisure centre take place every weekday morning, and most of the regulars are ladies aged in their sixties, seventies and eighties.
