BY DAWN WOOD

All the ingredients of a fantastic story for children - sweets, dragons, knights and poo. With a moral as well.

King Colin was lazy and just wanted to eat sweets from his super-duper sweet machne. That meant he became fat.

Baron Greedyguts was determined to steal the sweet machine for himself and knew just the ammunition to fire at the castle.

Keeping dragons fed on rotting cabbage ensured a supply of stinky dragon poo which he fired at the castle to bury the King and Queen before taking the sweet machine.

Now comes Sir Scallywag to the rescue, who, by making a slight adjustment to the sweet machine was able to return the stinky compliment to the Baron and his men. Another slight adjustment meant he ended up with a machine far more useful to the King, Queen and knights.

This story in rhyme will become a favourite. Children love bums and poo. They love mythical creatures, especially when drawn by Korky Paul. His illustrations have almost a Where's Wally approach as there is so much to look at on one page.

The revenge enacted upon the bad Baron will be enjoyed by both children and adults, the former for its messy humour, the latter for the sound moral of good triumphing over bad.
