THIS is the moment an intruder was caught red-handed on camera thanks to a quick-thinking neighbour.
The picture shows Darren Thomas trying to scramble over a back garden fence after he was caught trying to break-in to a house in Medway Road, Ronkswood, Worcester.
The 38-year-old, of Ribble Close, Ronkswood, came face-to-face with the householder after he returned home to let the dog out.
The burglar made a quick getaway, but thanks to this evidence he was identified quickly and arrested.
At Worcester Magistrates Court Thomas was given a four-month prison sentence suspended for two years for attempted burglary and a month for resisting a police officer following the incident on April 26.
He was placed under supervision for two years, ordered to undergo alcohol treatment for 12 months and was placed on an electronic curfew daily between 7pm and 7am.
He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation and an £80 victim surcharge.
