SCIENCE students at Pershore High School will be pitting their brains against pupils from across the country after securing a place to compete at the National Science and Engineering Finals, the Big Bang.

The Year 12 Ethics Education in Science and Engineering (EESE) team were awarded prizes for being the best engineers in the West Midlands with the most creative project meaning they will head to Manchester next year to take part in the event.

The team, consisting of Sarah-May Linney, Charlie Bourn, Matt Smith and Dan Thomas, is led by Paul Bishop and mentored by Rhiannon Williams and Marcus Cotterill from Worcester Bosch.

Richard Evans, director of strategic business development at Worcester Bosch, said: "On behalf of all the Bosch team at Worcester, we pass on our congratulations to the Pershore team. We are immensely proud of what they have achieved and the award for being best engineers is particularly pleasing. We will follow their progress in the next stages of the competition with great interest."

Head of Technology at Pershore High School, Neil Harding, added: "My sincere gratitude goes to Paul Bishop and our friends at Worcester Bosch for all of their energy and enthusiasm in supporting our students to be amongst the best in the country."
